2006 Remote Possibilities Fun In
St George Fly InThis was a great event. This is the first time that I have made it to the annual president’s day fly in. This is also the last time the event will be held at this location. The current site is the future site for the new International Airport. This is a huge loss for the Remote Possibilities club. This is an excellent flying site. It is an abandoned military airstrip. The event started on Thursday and ran thru Sunday. My favorite part of the event was the meeting other modelers and seeing their planes. The great thing about this hobby is that it is easy to meet new people. I have yet to find a pilot that doesn't want to talk about his or her plane. Especially when the conversation is started with a comment like "That’s a good looking plane." The great thing about this event is that you are able to be a participant or a spectator or both. It is up to you. With pilot registration you receive two pit badges, a pin and a T-shirt or a hat all for $20.00. This was a great event I recommend it to everyone. I wish the Remote Possibilities’ the best for finding a new site. I look forward to attending this event next year. Here are a few videos of the jets on final approach and take off. You can either click the left click on the link, this will download and display the movie in your browswer, or you can right click on the link and choose "Save Target As" and save the file to your hard drive. Make sure your speakers are on. These jets sound great!!!
Here is a link to the slide show that was shown at the March club meeting. Click Here This is a huge file. I only recommend it for fast connections.
